A Saigon Blueprint’s Symposium
Saigon Blueprint is a project gathers collective memories of an urban Saigon that is disappearing. Facing the fast-paced daily changes of Saigon’s urbanism, the project invites artists to interact with lost heritage or disappearing architectural monuments of the city to reimagine a Saigon from their personal perspectives.
Besides a series of events, happening, and exhibitions around Saigon in December 2017, Salon Saigon will host Genius Loci, a symposium on “the spirit of the place” discussed by architects and artists of Saigon. The symposium is divided into two sessions: “Loci” – where architects address the importance of preservation and renovation of heritage sites and architecture buildings in fostering cultural values of the city. The second session, “Genius”, voice artists’ opinions on how they navigate a city that constantly changes and the connection between artists and the city they live in. The all-day event is organized by Salon Saigon and Indochina Arts Partnership, sponsored by the Cultural Development and Exchange Fund (CDEF). From 9am-5pm on December 16, 2017.
